Frauke Zabel is a countryside and Munich-based artist whose practice is often engaged in various collective contexts. She completed her studies with a diploma in Fine Arts and a Master in Art and Mediation at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich after a guest semester in São Paulo, Brasil. Many of her research based works have developed out of different archived materials or the archives themselves. The focus of her work in recent years has been performance and video art. Her interest lies in the transfer and translation between languages, generations, media, times and places in the light of a possible deconstruction of hegemonic readings of history(ies).
